Inspired by the sound of hardcore bands of the early ?90s, Misconduct started to take its shape in the small Swedish city of Kristineham. Fredrik &Ollo& Olsson (vocals), Martin &Mört& Roed (guitar), Daniel Andersson (bass) and Jonas &J.C.& Carlsson (drums) secured the line-up of the band from the start of its operations, in 1995. A few months after the squad recorded its first demo tape, melancholically titled &Like the Old Days&, and eventually grabbed the attention of Swedish Bad Taste Records label. Misconduct were then honored with the inclusion of two of their demo tape themes on This Is Bad Taste ? The Ultimate Punk Party, a compilation disc with some of the best bands on the label's roster. Playing consecutive live shows during the following months, the team then entered the studio to record their first disc. Change, Misconduct's first EP for Bad Taste appeared in December of 1996. The success of their raving music, a boosting blend of hardcore and punk rock tunes secured them the way to work on their debut album. ?Another Time, the squad's first full-length showed up in the midst of 1997, offering them an even more solid recognition amongst the Swede punk rock scene. In 1998, after releasing the single Signed in Blood, the crew suffered its first line-up changes when Andersson left due to personal problems, being substituted by Mattias Nielsen. Shortly afterward it was Roed that left, being later replaced by Fredrik Andersson. In February of 1999, the band offered the album A New Direction, its first disc with the all renewed line-up. Following an intense touring season, Jonas decided to abandon the crew, leaving the band on a limbo for the following times. After securing the works of Mattias Pettersson, who substituted Jonas, and of Andreas Wall replacing Daniel Andersson, Misconduct entered yet another extensive tour, this time as one of the leading acts for the Bad Taste Tour. In 2000, the Swedes recorded Split, a joint disc with Trigger Happy and in 2001 it was time for One Last Try, their third major studio effort. A year later, the band headed into the studio with fellow Swede, Lennart Karlsson to make another record. Misconduct kept things simple by using an analog 16-channel table and not relying solely on digital effects. Two years of hard work resulted in the release of ?United As One, which appeared on Union 2112 in February 2004.
