by Ron WynnPianist and drummer Dave Alexander is both an effective vocalist and outstanding instrumentalist, whos best known for many festival and club appearances, and his Arhoolie albums. Also known as Omar Hakim Khayyam, Alexanders an articulate writer and advocate for the blues and African-American music. Hes written several articles for Living Blues. A self-taught pianist, Alexanders played with LC Robinson, Big Mama Thornton, Jimmy McCracklin, and Lafayette Thomas.
