M. Ward

馬修·斯蒂芬·沃德，藝名M. Ward， 是來自美國的歌手和吉他手，也是美國獨(dú)立流行樂隊(duì) She & Him 和民謠樂隊(duì) Monsters of Folk 的主要成員。
沃德最喜愛的歌曲是“Amazing Grace” （中文翻譯為《奇異恩典》，也有人稱《天賜恩寵》）。他的贊助商是Gibson Guitars ,他使用的吉他就是該公司出產(chǎn)的Johnny A。 他的父親很喜歡Johnny Cash，母親則是個(gè)古典音樂愛好者，因此他在成長過程中受鄉(xiāng)村音樂和古典音樂的影響比較大。
1999年，他的首個(gè)專輯 Duet for Guitars #2, 由 Howe Gelb出品。01年他發(fā)行了自己的專輯End of Amnesia，出品方是Future Farmer Records。他參與過許多樂隊(duì)專輯和單曲的錄制，編曲，如Cat Power, Neko Case, Beth Orton, The Court & Spark, Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis , and My Morning Jacket.
2005年，他參與了Burtch, Lytle 和 Fairchild 組織的一個(gè)項(xiàng)目 Arizona Amp and Alternator。

06年他出版了專輯 Post-War，初次遇見女演員 Zooey Deschanel, 并合作了一首二重唱。后來他們組建了INDIE POP樂隊(duì)：She & Him 。他們的首張專輯取名為 Volume One， 由沃德?lián)沃谱魅耍琈erge Records 出品，發(fā)行于2008年3月18日。之后他們還陸續(xù)出版了Volume Two 和一張圣誕專輯，在業(yè)內(nèi)反響都不錯(cuò)。他和Deschanel擔(dān)任了第九屆獨(dú)立音樂獎(jiǎng)的評(píng)委 Independent Music Awards.
2009年，他還發(fā)行了自己第六張個(gè)人專輯 Hold Time。
沃德還曾是樂隊(duì) Rodriguez 的一員，他們的作品有wing Like a Metronome。他的另一個(gè)樂隊(duì) Monsters of Folk, 也出版了同名專輯。
After a six-year stint with the trio Rodriguez, M. Ward began sketching out songs deeply rooted in the classic traditions of American country-folk. Rodriguezs home was in San Luis Obispo, CA, and they eventually recorded Swing Like a Metronome with Granddaddys Jason Lytle. Wards first solo effort came in the form of Duet for Guitars #2, which was written and recorded with the help of John King while Ward was living between Chicago and various locales on the West Coast. Eventually, Duets for Guitars #2 was placed in the hands of the ever-enigmatic Giant Stand mastermind Howe Gelb, who released it on his own Ow Om Recordings in the fall of 2000. The record enjoyed favorable reviews and a considerable amount of attention in underground rock circles and Ward supported it with a handful tours throughout the United States and Europe. His follow up, End of Amnesia, was released on Future Farmer in 2001. In 2003 he signed with Merge and released Transfiguration of Vincent, followed by Transistor Radio in 2005.
