Natalia Kills (born Natalia Cappuccini; 15 August 1986) is a British recording artist, songwriter, actress, and short-film director based in London and Los Angeles. She is signed with Interscope Records. Kills released her debut single, Zombie, in 2009 and is set to release her debut album, Perfectionist, in the near future.
Natalia had a regular role as Amy Franks, the vicar's daughter in the BBC's long running radio drama The Archers. In 2003 she portayed the character Sima in the BBC comedy, All About Me. After finishing the series in 2003, she signed to the UK record company "Adventures in Music", releasing her debut single "Don't Play Nice" in March 2005. The song, which received good reviews from critics, charted at 11. She later filed to be released from all recording/management agreements. In early 2008 she reached Number 1 unsigned artist on MySpace Music with two demo songs, "Shopaholic" and "Swaggeriffic" which were blogged about by Perez Hilton. She has songs featured in several Disney films including, Bring It On 4, Sleepover, and Just My Luck, as well as on U.S. television series Entourage. In May 2008 Kills was discovered by will.i.am and went on to sign to Interscope/Cherrytree Records via his imprint in late 2008. She was noticed for her self produced and written demo EP Wommanequin which features the song "Real Woman", a song about her challenge of society's view of the perfect female form. She provides guest vocals for Flo Rida's single "Available" featuring Akon and will.i.am.
Introducing "Natalia Kills", The Perfectionist and Love Kills Natalia then came up with a stage name of Natalia Kills. She took on a darker sounding pop music, not heard much in todays music. Kills' first music video as Natalia Kills, entitled "Zombie" was unveiled on 29 October 2009 on the official Cherrytree Records website. It is a promo single for her upcoming debut album, Perfectionist, which will be released by Cherrytree Records in 2010. Kills has also produced and co-directed a film, Love Kills xx, which has been made concurrently with the album, specifically so that they will synchronise, the album acting as the soundtrack to the film. She describes Perfectionist as a concept album, writing all her own lyrics and working with producers Jeff Bhasker, Fernando Garibay, Akon among others. "Love Kills xx" first aired on April 26, 2010 on Cherrytree Records website, and currently an episode airs each Monday on the site. The film has seen Kills killing a boyfriend, being captured by "Far East Movement" in the desert. Also, "Zombie" and a song titled "Love is a Suicide" has premiered on the film, with more expected to appear as the film continues. It is unknown when the film is set to finish airing, but it is rumoured to stop once the first single or album is released, although it could continue for the foreseeable future
