Kerstin Blodig is a veteran of the of the world folk scene, gaining credentials in musicology in Berlin and Bergen, and picking up a number of stringed instruments along the way to her degree in Scandinavian language and culture. After spending time in various ventures in theater and general studio work (as a vocalist), she's branched into folk endeavors somewhat more, with German folk-pop, as well as with a larger group, Touchwood. On her own eventually, she released 2002's Valivann on Alula, and early 2003 saw the release of Kelpie, a fusion of Celtic and Scandinavian music with Clannad's Ian Melrose.
