Swedish black metal trio Woods of Infinity got their start in 1999. After a false-start demo or two, the band caught the attention of small Swedish metal label Seibstmord in 2000, and the two parties soon signed a deal. When the deal fell through, Woods of Infinity were back to plying their trade on their own, and were put in the position of releasing a number of splits with other bands. The first of these, a 2002 release with Armagedda, was followed by the I-20 EP in 2003. Finally, a full-length hit the stores from Woods, 2004's F?rintelse & Libido, and the band hit its stride. Two albums, Hejd? and Ljuset, were issued in 2005, in addition to a split release. Members Ravenlord (vocals and samples), Melkor (guitars and bass), and Bruthor (drums and piano) released Woods of Infinity's fourth album, entitled Hamptj?rn, on U.K. label Supernal in 2007. The 7" EP Frozen Nostalgia and the six-track CD Hoppl?s V?ntan followed in 2008, and in 2009 Woods of Infinity issued a split with Arkha Sva entitled Old Ugly Trees.
