The Sins of Thy Beloved

The Sins Of Thy Beloved樂隊是由Morten和Arild 和Stig在1996年11月組成的，不久后又找到了Ola,Anita和Ingfrid。那個時候樂隊還叫Purgatory，但必須在發(fā)行“All Alone”改名字。這只要是由于還有其他許多叫Purgatory的樂隊（美國就有三個），他們不得不改名叫The Sins Of Thy Beloved。樂隊名字是樂隊成員名字簡單組合而成。三個月后也就是在1997年2月樂隊到錄音棚錄制了demo。是由一個著名的挪威樂隊的 bassplayer Gullei 制作的，發(fā)行量很少。在這之后，The Sins Of Thy Beloved 選擇了三首歌發(fā)行在 "All Alone"這張迷你CD上,并由意大利品牌Nocturnal Music發(fā)行。
1998年1月，The Sins Of Thy Beloved 在Sound Suite Studio錄制了"Silent Pain", 由Terje Refsnes 制作. 這些專輯發(fā)送到幾個唱片公司, 這張專輯在1998為他們贏得了與他們簽約的Napalm Records公司。1998年8月，The Sins Of Thy Beloved來到SoundSuite Studio工作室錄制了他們的首張專輯"Lake of Sorrow"。其中出自"All Alone" 中的二首歌 - "All Alone" " 和 "Worthy of You"被重新編排錄制。

The band was formed in November 1996 by Glenn Morten Nordb?, Arild Christensen and Stig Johansen. The band was initially called "Purgatory" but they soon decided to change their name to something less common. Anita Auglend and Ola Aarrestad joined the band shortly thereafter, and they recorded their first demo All Alone in January-February 1997. Anders Thue and Ingfrid Stensland then joined before they recorded their second demo Silent Pain in January 1998. Pete Johansen played the violin on that demo though he did not officially joined the band until the recording of their first full-length album Lake of Sorrow later in 1998. They toured across Europe, before recording their second full-length album Perpetual Desolation in 2000. During the following tour, Anita Auglend, Anders Thue and Ingfrid Stensland grew weary of traveling and left the band in 2001. A live performance was released on CD and VHS in 2001, though it was not distributed worldwide and is thus very hard to come by. The band has been dormant since the departure of its three members. Pete Johansen has since left to play the violin on several Tristania albums. In 2007 there were rumours that Anita Auglend returned to the band but so far there are no proof this was true and the band seems to keep in their hiatus.
