He was born in 1980 as son of an Indonesian mother and a German father and grew up in the three-country triangle of Holland, Belgium and Germany. At 14 he formed his first punk band, discovered in the course of time, but more and more his love of reggae. He stepped into the dancehalls on, founded the reggae band Jogit beat and so arrived to prominence in the reggae and dancehall scene of the triangle.
After the separation of his old band Jogit Beat in 2005 he began his collaboration with the reggae band JIN JIN. His third album was released under the title Get Up & Get going with Rootdown Records in 2011. He is accompanied on the album by the band Exile Airline, consisting inter alia of members of the JIN JIN-band.
Musically Sebastian Sturm is associated with the roots reggae.
