Elis Regina(1945-1982) 出生于巴西南部城市Porto Alegre的Elis Regina，11歲便在電臺(tái)步入她的歌唱生涯。1959年她來(lái)到里約熱內(nèi)盧正式簽約了Rádio Gaúcha電臺(tái)從而開(kāi)始了她的第一份工作。1961年發(fā)行了第一張LP《Viva a Brotolandia》?；氐絇orto Alegre之后一直到1964年期間，她曾在一家著名的Bossa Nova夜總會(huì)唱歌，同時(shí)她又被電視臺(tái)雇傭與當(dāng)時(shí)其他一些著名的音樂(lè)家如Jorge Ben、Wilson Simonal等同臺(tái)演出。
1965年在巴西首屆流行音樂(lè)節(jié)上的演出真正令Elis Regina在國(guó)內(nèi)被認(rèn)知，爾后不久與Jair Rodrigues共同合作錄制了《Dois na Bossa》，并一同參加了巴西當(dāng)時(shí)一檔知名的專門推出音樂(lè)家及其音樂(lè)的電視節(jié)目。就在那之后Elis Regina的音樂(lè)事業(yè)正式得以騰飛，她1966年的專輯《Elis》收錄了第一張專輯中由Milton Nascimento寫(xiě)的歌曲[Cano do Sal]，于是也因此她的成名帶出了象Milton Nascimento、Ivan Lins ("Madalena")、Tavito/ Zé Rodrix ("Casa no Campo") 、Belchior ("Como Nossos Pais")等一批音樂(lè)創(chuàng)作人。

Biography
Regina's distinguished blend of electronic beats, folk and world music, female vocals sung in Finnish and some wild percussion introduces a unique blend that mixes the best pop music influences from the 60s to the 90s. Combining snapshot like stories of every day life, Regina's original sound resonates on the threshold of mundane and magical realism while sometimes extending its reach into pure fantasy.
In 2005 Regina released their highly acclaimed debut album Katso maisemaa released by a Finnish label Next Big Thing, and was chosen in several polls as one of the best Finnish albums of the year. Their follow up album, Oi miten suuria voimia!, was released in the beginning of 2007, and was similarly a highly acclaimed success – being nominated for the Finnish Grammy award, Emma, in the Critic's choice category. In the end of 2007, Regina independently released a Christmas single, Näinä mustina iltoina, that immediately became an indie hit, also beyond Finland's borders.
The third studio album by the group, Puutarhatrilogia. will be released in the beginning of 2009 by a traditional Finnish indie label, Johanna Kustannus.
So far, the band's albums and singles have also been released in Sweden, Japan, and Taiwan. It has actively been touring in Scandinavian countries, Central Europe, Baltic region and Russia.
