Nevertheless, his solo debut, Multiply, finds the young R&B maven alternately channeling Otis Redding, Prince, and Stevie Wonder, while adding a distinctly modern, admittedly Midnite Vultures-era Beck-tinged flair. Whatever its provenance, Multiply is one of the best R&B albums of the mid-2000s.
