西非馬里著名民謠樂團(tuán)Tinariwen于2014年2月11日發(fā)布專輯《Emmaar》。

Saharan soul outfit Tinariwen are ready to follow up 2011 s Tassili with a new guest-loaded LP dubbed Emmaar. The set drops February 11 via Anti-.

While Tassili had been recorded in the group s native North Africa, political instability moved the multi-generational act out to Joshua Tree, CA, to track their latest long-player.

"We were not in a proper studio or outside in the desert like Tassili," multi-instrumentalist Eyadou Ag Leche explained in a statement. "We built a studio in a big house in Joshua Tree. Everybody in the same room, with no separation. We wanted something which sounded natural and live."

Last time around, the band got a hand on the recordings from members of Wilco and TV on the Radio, but for the new album, the extra help includes current Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, Chavez s Matt Sweeney, fiddler Fats Kaplin and poet/performer Saul Williams. The sessions were later mixed by Vance Powell (Jack White, the Dead Weather).

While you ll have to wait until February to hear the album in full, Tinariwen premiered first single and album opener "Toumast Tincha" (or in English, "The People Have Been Sold Out"). You can watch the video for the track at the bottom of the page courtesy of Slate.
