by Craig HarrisZouk Machine is one of the most successful female trios in the West Indies. Formed in 1986 by Guy Houllier and Yves Honoré of Experiment 7, the group attracted international attention with their groundbreaking album, Maldòn, in 1990. Zouk Machine has undergone several personnel changes since its inception. While the original trio featured sisters Christiane Obydol and Dominique Zorobabel and Jo?lle Ursull, the departure of Ursull after six months was followed by a lengthy period as a vocal duo. Although the 1998 addition of Jane Fostin cemented the groups sound, her decision to embark on a solo career seven years later left the future of Zouk Machine in doubt.
